The Vision: A Warm Embrace of Nature

This gated entry was designed to make a striking impression while harmonizing with the surrounding wooded landscape. Through careful layering of color, texture, and form, we created a space that feels both structured and serene.

Design Highlights:

🌲 Blue Arrow Junipers-These upright evergreens bring year-round color and vertical interest. Positioned on either side of the gate, their distinctive blue-green tones act as natural sentinels, drawing visitors into the property with quiet strength.

🌿 Coral Bells, Liriope & Astilbes-For a soft, colorful base beneath the evergreens, we introduced a mix of perennials. Coral bells, liriope, and astilbes provide seasonal bursts of purples, pinks, and lush greens—adding movement and depth throughout the year.

🌸 Boxwoods & Butterfly Bushes-Neatly clipped boxwoods lend a sense of formality and permanence, while butterfly bushes invite pollinators and summer blooms, creating a vibrant and ever-changing sensory experience.

🪨 Iowa Creek Rock Road Border-To define the driveway and manage drainage, we installed a rustic border of natural Iowa creek rock. Its earthy tones tie the hardscape to the surrounding landscape seamlessly.

🧱 Fond du Lac Stone Edging-We edged the planting beds with hand-placed Fond du Lac stone, offering a refined finish with natural variation and durability—perfect for a polished yet organic feel.

🌑 Black Mulch & Fieldstone Boulders-Dark mulch enriches the planting beds visually and functionally, while strategically placed fieldstone boulders ground the design, adding rugged texture and anchoring the overall composition.
